Similar in appearance to the French Bulldog, Boston Terriers are characterized by their compact, muscular stature and typically weigh no more than 25 pounds. Smart and humorous, the Boston Terrier adapts well to most environments. They are affectionate dogs and get along well with children and other dogs.
Boston Terriers have a short coat in a "tuxedo jacket" pattern with a short tail. Because they have a short coat, they do shed but require minimal grooming. They need weekly brushing and occasional bathing.
The exercise needs varies by dog, but most enjoy daily walks and playing with toys outdoors to keep them happy and healthy. Boston Terriers tend to do well in canine sports such as agility and obedience. Their lifespan is 11 to 13 years.
